Here is my inspiration board before we determined the art direction for this old miniature house. Love the vintage Golden Books and their illustrations…
This one wooden Christmas ornament is THE holy grail of my holiday inspirations. See – it was hung in my parents’ Christmas tree every year since my early childhood years. The wooden vintage ornament, which I believe came from Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, MI.

HOW I GOT STARTED…
I’ve never once owned a dollhouse. One day, my daughter and I found this old miniature (doll)house at the flea market in Wisconsin for $30 yet brought it home. We decided to give it an extreme makeover. Boy, was it old …and disgusting!
Of course, we gutted out everything you see – and primed it!
Our art direction: Whimsical Elf Toy Workshop / Sweet Shoppe
It was a true joy – watching both kids work on the house, painting and all! We decided to start our new Christmas tradition by adding holiday miniature decoration in the house each year.

Hi! I’m Jill Stark, a miniature house enthusiast! As an artist, I do fixer-upper for vintage (doll)houses as well as collect them.
I would just go ahead and write (& publish) a rough blog post today …without having to worry about how it’d look. The reason I’m here is to share you my journey with a new hobby I discovered last August of 2017. Dollhouses. Honestly, I’d prefer to call them as “miniature houses”!
The reason I’m doing this blog is because:
- This page will help me put my newfound hobby in ONE place with a broader target audience – instead of sharing my pictures and stories here ‘n’ there in the social media, such as my personal FB page.
